Barrel Oven
When my parents restored a plantation home in southern Louisiana, the restoration turned into a lifelong family project (which is now a historic site) Maison Chenal. One of the many traditions we had was cooking pizzas on Mother's Day in an old clay barrel oven that was used on the plantation. Everyone participated in the process and great memories were had. I wanted to continue this tradition and I had the perfect exhaust pipe for a barrel oven just 30 feet from my house in the backyard... and I needed a COVID project.

"I always thought building a barrel oven would be a cool thing to do, but never had the time. And now that I've built one, it turns out I was right, it was.. and is cool!"
